Week in Review 05/01/2015

Old School Speech

I started this linky so that SLPs could go to 1 place to get ideas for therapy. Write a post about either what you did this week, or what you have planned for next week. All I ask is that you share a link back to my blog in your post.

Since this was state testing week, things were pretty relaxed in my speech room. As in...it was "game week"!

Monday and Tuesday I pulled out my games from my Ready for Summer: 3 Games in 1. The kids really enjoyed working as a team. When I asked them which was their favorite, I got mixed reviews. A couple of Kinders said, "All of them!"

Thursday was all about Flyin' Frogs. My kids had such a good time playing this!

School –Aged Language:
Natalie Snyder's freebie It's Raining Idioms was perfect for my school-aged language kids! This student was able to play the game while reviewing/learning idioms.
Tuesday was the first time I was able to use Teach Speech 365's January Speech & Language Mystery. If you didn't snag it in January, then you're too late. This was an excellent packet!
I pulled Cariboo out for one of my students who is working on social skills. He responded to every situation I gave him with "sad", "happy", or "mad". Lots of work needs to be done!
Cariboo Social Skills (Peachie Speechie)
Craftivity/Preschool:
I found this super cute freebie from Randi: Spring Fever Butterflies  and just switched out pictures for the numbers.
My walk-in preschooler also did the craftivity; we worked on following directions, answering questions without echolalia, and vocabulary/verbs that go along with the Spring Interactive Book from Speech Universe.
We also read an Emergent Reader about Spring (FREE from Julie Shope!). I used Smarty Symbols to make visual cues to help my student "read" the book.

On top of all this, TpT AND Teacher's Notebook are having sales!

What was going on in your therapy room this week, or what do you have planned for next week?

  1. I always love to see what you've been up to! I, on the other hand, was on vacation! YAY! 34 days left.
